A Prayer for Tuesday

As Tuesday begins to come to a close, I wanted to share a short prayer with you.

As the drudgery of Monday turns to the excitement of mid-week, may our hearts soften ever so slightly to the work of that first day.

May we treat with grace and patient kindness the days where an extra hour of sleep is much needed and nowhere in sight.

As days begin to grow shorter and, hopefully, cooler, may we be inspired by and in awe of the magnificent work of the Creator.

May the days leading to celebration be given their due, not glossed over, but fully lived.

May the anticipation of exciting news continually point us back to you, Father, and may you hold us gently when the news falls short of expectations.

And for you, sweet, little one, may the God who holds all things in His hands take extra care with you.

As your small body continues to grow and develop within me, may you feel the love of so many other already surrounding you.

May the words I read aloud to you from the pages of the old, good book be imprinted on your young heart, and may you carry them with you all the days of your life.

May your heart, even now, begin to feel the presence of the Father and soften to His touch.

May you always remember He is with you, He loves you, and He is trustworthy.

I’ll leave you with this passage from Psalm 27: 13-14:
“I am certain that I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.”
